Marulu Team

The Marulu Strategy is an initiative led by Marninwarntikura Women's Resource Centre in Fitzroy Crossing. Marulu, a Bunuba word meaning precious, worth nurturing, is a community-led initiative to overcome fetal alcohol spectrum disorders and early life trauma in the Fitzroy Valley.

The Marulu team connects families to health professionals and supports in the Fitzroy Valley. Our team provides training to community members and service providers across the Fitzroy Valley.

Marninwarntikura Women’s Resource Centre (MWRC)

MWRC is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation located in Fitzroy Crossing, on Bunuba Country in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. MWRC exists to uphold the safety, strength, and leadership of women and children across the Fitzroy Valley, delivering community-led, culturally grounded responses to family and domestic violence, intergenerational trauma, and social inequity.

MWRC’s services include a women’s shelter, family and legal support, early years programs, youth engagement, therapeutic healing, and systems advocacy. We are recognised nationally for our integrated, place-based approach that centres Aboriginal knowledges and community governance.

KAMS

Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) is a member based, regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO), providing support and representing the interests of eight independent ACCHOs from towns and remote communities across the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

KAMS delivers holistic health and wellbeing services to Kimberley Aboriginal people in partnership with Aboriginal led organisations that centres around Aboriginal culture and knowledge.

KAMS plays an important advocacy role raising awareness of health needs across The Kimberley. They provide secretariat support for The Kimberley Aboriginal Health Planning Forum, the peak regional forum for improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal people in The Kimberley region of Western Australia - https://kahpf.org.au/

Marurra U partnership between Royal Far West and Marninwarntikura

Royal Far West specialises in supporting rural and remote children’s developmental, mental and behavioural health so they can reach their full potential. They work to address service gaps and support our most vulnerable families and communities.

Royal Far West's multidisciplinary health, education and disability services support country children aged up to 12 via telecare and through community outreach.
