The Guidelines available on the FASD Hub were developed to support Australian health practitioners involved in the assessment and diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) across the lifespan.
An Australian Indigenous FASD Framework
The Australian Indigenous FASD Framework is targeted at building the capacity of both non-Indigenous practitioners and Aboriginal communities to deliver and access FASD knowledge, resources, assessments, diagnosis and support services.
The Lililwan Collaboration: Inquiry into Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD)
Following community consultation in 2009, the Lililwan study commenced in 2010, aiming to determine the prevalence of alcohol use in pregnancy, FASD and early life trauma in the community and coordinate ongoing support for affected children and families. The Lililwan Collaboration: Inquiry into Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) is the Marulu Project submission to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs, 23rd March, 2012.

Flood Response and Recovery in Fitzroy Crossing
In response to the unprecedented flooding that impacted Fitzroy Crossing town and surrounding communities in January 2023, Marninwarntikura
Women’s Resource Centre (MWRC), through its long-standing partnership with specialist child development service Royal Far West (RFW) known as “Marurra-U”, invited UNICEF Australia to undertake a post-flood Needs Assessment with affected communities.
The report details the findings of this Needs Assessment based on interviews with over 40 key informants, including members of the Fitzroy Valley community and service providers. The interviews were analysed using the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Framework (Gee et al., 2014) to understand the impacts of the flood on the social and emotional wellbeing of children and families.

Health and well-being of children and adolescents living in the Kimberley region of Western Australia: a scoping review protocol
Aboriginal people in the Kimberley are concerned that scientific research, government Inquiries and Royal Commissions are not adequately informing policy and service design. In this protocol paper, we outline our proposed scoping review to identify and provide a broad overview of scientific literature regarding the health, well-being, mental health, disability, education and social outcomes of children and adolescents living in the Kimberley region of Western Australia and the recommendations that came from them.

“PEOPLE DON’T KNOW WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE” - Creating equity for people with disability in the Fitzroy Valley
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) commissioned Marninwarntikura Women’s Resource Centre (MWRC) to undertake an intensive consultation with the Fitzroy Valley community in Western Australia (WA). MWRC in collaboration with researchers from The University of Sydney (USYD) conducted interviews
with people with disability, their parents/carers and key stakeholders, including disability service providers in the Fitzroy Valley. The purpose of the consultation was to determine how to improve the lives of people with disability, with a focus on the roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
