FASD Hub Australia
The FASD Hub is a leading source of high quality, evidence-based content about alcohol and pregnancy and FASD in Australia. Their site includes a Services Directory and guidelines for assessment and diagnosis.
Marninwarntikura Women’s Resource Centre (MWRC)
Marninwarntikura Women’s Resource Centre (MWRC) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation located in Fitzroy Crossing, on Bunuba Country in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. MWRC exists to uphold the safety, strength, and leadership of women and children across the Fitzroy Valley, delivering community-led, culturally grounded responses to family and domestic violence, intergenerational trauma, and social inequity.
MWRC’s services include a women’s shelter, family and legal support, early years programs, youth engagement, therapeutic healing, and systems advocacy. We are recognised nationally for our integrated, place-based approach that centres Aboriginal knowledge and community governance.
Marulu Strategy
The Marulu Strategy is an initiative led by Marninwarntikura Women's Resource Centre (MWRC) in Fitzroy Crossing in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The Marulu Strategy is a community driven response to the high prevalence of FASD and Early Life Trauma (ELT) in the Fitzroy Valley. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) is a major issue in Fitzroy Valley communities, as well as across the Country for all children affected by alcohol in utero, their families and Communities. The Marulu Team at MWRC are engaged in numerous community development initiatives designed to support a better future for families and communities in the Fitzroy Valley.
Strong Born Campaign, NACCHO
Strong Born is a campaign designed to raise awareness of FASD and the harms of drinking alcohol while pregnant and breastfeeding. It was developed by National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in rural and remote communities.
NOFASD Australia
NOFASD Australia is the National Organisation for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. They are a family-driven organisation, dedicated to creating a powerful link between those with lived and living experience of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and the experts, researchers, clinicians, and advocates, who are committed to driving meaningful change and providing support. They provide a free, 365-day helpline, advisory and referral service for those who have FASD or are supporting someone who has FASD: Australia Helpline 1800 860 613.

Prue offers support and coaching to families and adults, aiding in the diagnostic process, FASD education, and securing suitable assistance for affected adults. FASD Training Australia
FASD Training Australia provides online and live training on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and other complex neurodiversities with Dr Vanessa Spiller.
Dr Vanessa Spiller is a clinical psychologist, FASD educator, the author of several books on FASD and understanding and supporting those with complex neurodivergence and the parent to a young adult with FASD. She works with individuals and families impacted by FASD from across Australia with a focus on intervention and helping them create structures and networks of support that facilitate success across the lifespan.

Across Australia, they work directly with children and families in our national and regional centres.

The Healing Foundation is a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation that provides a platform to amplify the voices and lived experience of Stolen Generations survivors and their families.
Berry Street
Berry Street provides a wide range of programs that focus on reorientating the child and family system, family violence services and education system towards early intervention and prevention.
Be You Early Learning
Be You is a national initiative that equips educators to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people from birth to 18 years. It provides an end-to-end approach for early learning services, school-age care services, primary schools and secondary schools across Australia.

This resource for Early Childhood Educators was produced as a part of the Marulu Strategy. It provides information and understandings about what trauma and FASD look like using practical evidence-informed strategies. Whilst designed for early childhood educators, it has been used widely by a range of health professionals.

This practical education resource is designed to support schools, educators and community members to recognise, understand and work effectively with students with FASD and complex trauma. While the resource has been written for educators and school communities in Western Australia, the materials are also relevant for all school communities across Australia and have been used by people working in other disciplines.

The Strong Born booklet for health professionals was created by NACCHO to raise awareness of FASD in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations among multidisciplinary ACCHO staff and other health professionals.
National Framework For assessing children’s functional strengths and support needs in Australia
The National Framework for assessing children’s functional strengths and support needs in Australia provides a consistent, evidence-based and culturally responsive approach for assessing, differentiating, and reporting children’s functional strengths and support needs.
The Framework focuses on professional practice when working with children aged 0-12 years and their families. It can be used across relevant health, education, disability and community services to support all children, irrespective of whether they have a diagnosed condition or may receive a diagnosis in the future.

Every Moment Matters - FARE Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education
Every Moment Matters is an initiative of the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education, a not-for-profit organisation with a vision for an Australia free from alcohol harms. They work collaboratively to build the capacity of people wanting to create change, raise community awareness of alcohol harms and advocate for policy change.

This guide provides staff and managers with information about secondary traumatic stress, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and burnout. It describes organisational, client-related and personal risk and protective factors and provides strategies for assessing and addressing staff support and well-being.
Tracking Better
Tracking Better brings trauma-informed care to mental health services by collaborating with health services to teach clinicians how to track and manage their own stress, and then apply these learnings to assist children, youth and families with their own stress and emotilnal dysretulation.
National FASD Strategic Action Plan 2018–2028
The Department of Health’s National Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Strategic Action Plan 2018-2028 (the Plan) has been developed to provide a clear pathway of priorities and opportunities to improve the prevention, diagnosis, support and management of FASD in Australia. It aims to reduce the prevalence of FASD and the effects it has on individuals, families, carers and communities.
